Disparekraf Allows 13 Types of Businesses to Operate During Transitional PSBB

Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economic Agency (Disparekraf) decides to extend restrictions on the types of activities or businesses in the tourism sector and the creative economy that may operate during the Phase 1 Transitional PSBB.

Nevertheless they must implement strict health protocols

Gumilar Ekalaya, Acting Head of Jakarta Disparekraf asserted that cinemas to indoor fitness centers or gyms were not allowed to operate at this time.

This policy was stated in the Head of the Disparekraf Decree number 2976/2020 dated on August 14 and issued Thursday (8/20).

In the decree, there were only 13 types of activities or businesses allowed to operate. As for the cinemas, indoor fitness centers such as gyms, billiards, bowling, ice skating, family recreation parks/children's games, swimming pools and water parks, tennis courts, fishing pools, and marriage contracts in buildings might not be implemented.

He furthered it was based on considerations from the health, security and safety side, especially since the pandemic condition in Jakarta was still fluctuating although it tended to be controlled. It also referred to the Governor Decree about the Extension of Phase 1 Transitional PSBB.

"Nevertheless they must implement strict health protocols. 13 types of businesses will open in this transitional period. Certainly we consider many of these factors, especially to contain the spread of COVID-19," he expressed when being contacted last night.

He explained the health protocol rules in place included 50 percent capacity limitation, age restrictions for visitors to tourism spots and allowing the tourism sector in the open.

After the policy was over, precisely on August 27, his side would conduct evaluation.

The types of activities/businesses written in the decree number 2976 are:

1. Hotel/Accommodation, Maximum business owners, workers, meeting rooms 50 percent of capacity

2. Restaurant/Restaurant, Maximum business owners, workers, visitors, 50 percent of capacity and only allowed to perform acoustic music type performances

3. Tourism Area, Maximum business owners, workers, visitors of 50 percent of capacity and children under 9 and over 60 are prohibited from entering

4.  Ragunan Zoo, Maximum business owners, workers, visitors. 50 percent of capacity and children under 9 and over 60 are prohibited from entering

5. Museums and Galleries, Maximum business owners, workers and visitors 50 percent of capacity

6. Thousand Islands Beach Tourism, Maximum business owners, workers and visitors 50 percent of capacity

7. Barbershop, Maximum business owners, workers, visitors 50 percent of capacity, are only allowed to carry out hair care

8. Indoor and Outdoor Recreation Parks, Maximum business owners, workers, visitors, 50 percent of capacity and children under 9 and over 60 are prohibited from entering

9. Golf and Driving Range, Maximum business owner, workers, visitors and 50 percent of capacity.

10. Outdoor performances, Maximum business owners, workers, visitors, 50 percent of capacity and children under 9 years old and over 60 years old are prohibited from entering. Must have an open letter of technical approval from the Parekraf Agency

11. Film Production, Maximum business owners, workers, visitors and 50 percent of capacity. Must have a technical approval letter from the Parekraf Agency

12. Corporate Event, Maximum business owners, workers, visitors and 50 percent of capacity. Must have a technical approval letter from the Parekraf Agency.

13. Meeting/Seminar/Workshop Maximum business owners, workers, visitors and 50 percent of capacity. Must have a technical approval letter from the Parekraf Agency.
